2026 Board of Directors Election Information

Prodeo Academy is pleased to announce the following Nominees for Board of Directors: 

 

Ben Whitney - Community Member

 

Biography: Ben served on the board from 2018 through June 2024 and now again from July 2025 to the present.  Ben has been an active supporter since Prodeo started.  He has had careers in law, business, diplomacy, and higher education. Ben is nominated by the Governance Committee.

 

Candidate Statement: I deeply believe that education is our greatest opportunity to improve our community and the lives of children who need it most. I want Prodeo to show the world what is possible.

 

Eric Johnson - Community Member

Biography: Eric has served on the Prodeo board as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee since August 2021.  Eric spent more than 31 years working with Cargill in various Finance Director and Risk Manager roles.  Eric has been a volunteer at Prodeo Academy since its inception.  He is nominated by the Governance Committee.

 

Candidate Statement: I am interested in continuing to serve on the Prodeo Academy Board because I deeply believe in the school’s mission to provide an excellent education to students who have historically been underserved, students who too often face barriers that limit their academic opportunities and long-term success. Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to change lives. When students are given access to strong instruction, high expectations, and a supportive learning environment, they gain the confidence and skills needed to open doors for their future. I see the impact our school has on students and families, and I wish to continue supporting Prodeo’s work in providing students with the high-quality education they deserve. 

 

Tamara Jenkins - Community Member

Biography: Tamara Jenkins is a dedicated Prodeo volunteer and has served on the Prodeo Finance Committee since fall 2022 and on the Prodeo Board of Directors since summer 2023. She currently serves as Director of Finance and Accounting at PAR Systems, a Pohlad Company. She brings a broad range of experience from both the public and private sectors, including public accounting, venture capital, and Fortune 500 organizations. Tamara has a strong commitment to service and sound stewardship, reflected in her board experience with the Community Board of Trustees for The Jeremiah Program – Minneapolis-St. Paul and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). Tamara is nominated by the Governance Committee.

 

Candidate Statement: I seek to continue to serve on the Prodeo Board because I believe every child deserves access to a high-quality education rooted in academic excellence and delivered in a safe, supportive environment. As the child of working-class parents, I experienced firsthand how education can open doors, create opportunity, and change the course of a life. These experiences shaped my deep respect for educators and my commitment to ensuring our schools maintain high academic standards while providing the resources, accountability, and support students need to succeed. I am dedicated to listening to our community, supporting teachers and staff, and making thoughtful, fiscally responsible decisions that put students first.

Eric Johnson – Miembro de la Comunidad

Biografía: Eric ha servido en la junta de Prodeo como Tesorero y Presidente del Comité de Finanzas desde agosto de 2021. Declaración del Candidato: Estoy interesado en continuar sirviendo en la Junta de Prodeo Academy porque creo profundamente en la misión de la escuela de brindar una educación excelente a estudiantes que históricamente han sido desatendidos, estudiantes que con demasiada frecuencia enfrentan barreras que limitan sus oportunidades académicas y su éxito a largo plazo. La educación es una de las herramientas más poderosas que tenemos para transformar vidas. Declaración del Candidato: Busco continuar sirviendo en la Junta de Prodeo porque creo que cada niño merece acceso a una educación de alta calidad basada en la excelencia académica y ofrecida en un entorno seguro y de apoyo. Como hija de padres trabajadores, experimenté de primera mano cómo la educación puede abrir puertas, crear oportunidades y cambiar el rumbo de una vida.
