Minneapolis Public Schools Summer Session. Minneapolis residents may be eligible even if the student does not attend school at MPS. The teacher must complete an application for summer school, the family must complete an application, and the scholar must meet eligibility requirements. Saint Paul Parks and Recreation - Rec Check Summer Program: Saint Paul Parks and Recreation is offering a free summer program for students entering the 1st-6th grades for the school year 2022-23. The program runs June 20th-August 25th, every Monday-Friday from 1 PM-4 PM. This program is available at all of the Saint Paul Recreation Centers. Applications are taken on a first-come, first-served basis so apply ASAP! Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is launching the LSS Imhotep Freedom School© in North Minneapolis this summer through a partnership with Children's Defense Fund (CDF). Children will have the opportunity to participate in free summer programming that builds academic skills through high-quality STEM education and summer reading activities. The program runs July 10- August 20 for scholars who have completed kindergarten through eighth grade. Bright Futures at PCYC offers free after-school and summer programming to youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade, with transportation available for families residing in North Minneapolis. Summer childcare - The YMCA offers flexible full-day enrichment programming for children 2 years old to students entering 8th grade. Relentless Academy provides full-day S.M.A.R.T. Summer Programs for youth in grades K-12, including music lessons, coding/robotics, and financial literacy. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and families must reside in Hennepin Co. The cost is $100 per family. Breakfast and lunch meals included.
