A Welcome Letter from Your Principal-

Dear CHPA Families - 

Believe it or not, we're just weeks away from the start of the 25-26 school year! My name is Rachel Andersen, and I'm thrilled to be stepping into the role of Principal at CHPA. This year marks the start of my 7th year at Prodeo; including 5 years as the Assistant Principal at CHPA. There is nothing I love more than working with the littlest learners! 

We are so excited your child will be joining us this year, and if you are new: Welcome to our school community! Our teachers are so excited to help your child learn to read, engage in exciting math lessons, and develop a fun and joyful classroom community. 

To make sure your child benefits as much as possible from all Prodeo has to offer, your child needs to show up to school on time every day (by 7:35). Regular attendance at Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade is a very important opportunity for your child to:

•     Build routines that help reduce stress.
•     Make new friends or reconnect with their friends and  teachers.
•     Engage in learning. 
•     Gain access to meals and fun activities.

Missing 10%, or more than two days a month of early elementary school, can impact a child’s learning, social development, and take them off track for developing attendance habits critical to success in school. We do very important learning right away in the morning, so make plans to arrive on time so your child doesn’t miss any content or learning opportunities. Please make sure to send your child to school whenever they are well enough to attend! 

If you are wondering what you can do this summer to prepare your child for the next grade or the start of school, the number one thing we hope you will do is read to and with your child!
