The news in the past 24 hours has been overwhelmingly tragic. George Floyd’s killing is a reminder of our worst fears for our students, staff, and community. George Floyd mattered. This is incredibly painful. It continues to cause deep wounds that divide our community. The pain is public and real. All of us are hurting, and we also recognize that our pain can differ based on race, gender, lived experience and many additional factors. There is so much to be said, and we want to hold space for these conversations. Through the feelings of sadness, frustration, and fury, we must continue supporting each other, our scholars, our families, and the communities we serve. Though our work continues from a distance, we must remain close, so please reach out to any one of us as you need. We are here together, in pain and in solidarity, as we work toward a more just future for our society.
